Oaklawn Park Race Meet Begins Jan. 20

Road to the Derby Kicks-Off at Fair Grounds

Road to the Derby Kickoff Day returns to the Fair Grounds meet, now running at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs. Watch newly-turned 3-year-olds prep for the Kentucky Derby and Oaks, as they compete in the Risen Star Stakes (G3) and the Silverbulletday Stakes (G3).

Combined with two additional stakes, these races will complete a $100,000 Guaranteed All-Stakes Pick 4 opportunity. On last year’s Kickoff Day the All-Stakes Pick 4 paid over $5,000!

Afleet Alex’s Owners Honored with Special Eclipse Awards

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association announced on Monday that Afleet Alex’s owners, Cash is King Racing Stable has been honored with the Special Eclipse Award, presented to “honor outstanding individual achievements in, or contributions to, the sport of Thoroughbred racing.”
