Cowtown Cat Favorite in Ohio Derby

Cowtown Cat, who finished dead last in a field of 20 horses in the 2007 Kentucky Derby, is the favorite in Saturday’s $300,000 Ohio Derby for 3-year-olds at Thistledown. Seven others will head to the gate for the 1 1/8-mile race to challenge Cowtown Cat, who is trained by Todd Pletcher. Cowtown Cat was installed Thursday as the 5-2 morning-line favorite and will be ridden by John Velazquez.
