Online horse racing betting giant Bodog.com announced today a record number of unique proposition wagers for the 138th running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park with a field of unknowns chasing the $1-million purse.

"Without the injured Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro and Preakness winner Bernardini, whose team chose to pass on the Belmont, just about any horse can w??n the race," says Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of Bodog.com. "With so many contenders, betting action is being spread across the board and we anticipate one exciting race that offers plenty of value to bettors."
Without a prohibitive favorite as we’ve seen in past years, several horses in the field of 12 will attract bettors. That could create heftier-than-usual payouts for the 1.5-mile race that’s often called "the test of a champion".
