The $100,000 Morvich Handicap (G3) at 6 1/2 furlongs field of horses with jockeys and weight line up as follows:

  3. Soul City Slew under jockey Martin Garcia, 115 lbs.
  4. Get Funky under jockey Jose Valdivia Jr, 121 lbs.
  5. Ten Meropa under jockey Tyler Baze, 114 lbs.
  6. Easy On The Eye) under jockey Corey Nakatani, 113 lbs.
  7. Five Star Thief under jockey Joel Rosario, 114 lbs.
  8. One Union under jockey Victor Espinoza, 117 lbs.
  9. California Flag under jockey Joseph Talamo, 114 lbs.
  10. Tropic Storm under jockey Aaron Gryder, 117 lbs.
  11. Matto Mondo under jockey Mike Smith, 116 lbs.
  12. Desert Code under jockey Garrett Gomez, 117 lbs.

As part of the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Challenge “Win & You’re In” series of horse races, the Morvich winner will automatically be one of the Breeders’ Cup entries for the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint on October 25 at Santa Anita Park.

The Morvich Handicap is race 8 of 9 in Oak Tree at Santa Anita‘s September 24 opening day card. Morvich post time is 4:30 pm Pacific.
