Breeders’ Cup Challenge Results: Jonesboro Wins Tiznow Handicap at Louisiana Downs September 20

Odds-on horse betting choice Jonesboro posted a 1 3/4 length victory in the $151,500 Tiznow Handicap Saturday, September 20, at Louisiana Downs and an entry in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile to be held at Santa Anita Park.

SBG Global RacebookThe Tiznow Handicap is one of the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Challenge events this Saturday where the winner will automatically be one of the Breeders’ Cup horses for its respective Breeders’ Cup division.

Ridden by jockey Robby Albarado, Jonesboro kicked away in the stretch and raced 1 1/16 miles in 1:44.22 returning $3.60, $2.20 and $2.10.

The 6-year-old son of Sefapiano trained by Randy Morse for race horse owner Michael Langford earned $90,000 for the Tiznow Handicap win and increased his bankroll to $836,575.

Autobeacat, under jockey Donnie Meche, made a bid on the outside edging Smokeyjonessutton, piloted by jockey Kent Desormeaux, by a neck but could not catch up with Jonesboro. Autobeacat paid $3 and $2.40 while Smokeyjonessutton showed $2.60.

Dreamsandvisions was fourth in Louisiana Downs’s Tiznow Handicap followed by Got the Last Laugh, Crook’s Stinger, Longley and Etesaal.
