The Breeders’ Cup Classic is set for Saturday at Churchill Downs. Post time for the race is 5:20 p.m. EST.

Post-position order, with (sire), jockey, and trainer:

1. Brother Derek (Benchmark), Alex Solis, 122, Dan Hendricks, 30-to-1

2. Premium Tap (Pleasant Tap), Edgar Prado, 126, John Kimmel, 30-to-1

3. Bernardini (A.P. Indy), Javier Castellano, 122, Tom Albertrani, 1-to-1

4. George Washington [IRE] (Danehill), Mick Kinane, 122, Aidan O’Brien, 10-to-1

5. Lawyer Ron (Langfuhr), Patrick Valenzuela, 122, Todd Pletcher, 20-to-1

6. Perfect Drift (Dynaformer), Garrett Gomez, 126, Murray Johnson, 20-to-1

7. David Junior (Pleasant Tap), Jamie Spencer, 126, Brian Meehan, 10-to-1

8. Lava Man (Slew City Slew), Corey Nakatani, 126, Doug O’Neill, 6-to-1

9. Giacomo (Holy Bull), Mike Smith, 126, John Shirreffs, 30-to-1

10. Flower Alley (Distorted Humor), John Velazquez, 126, Todd A. Pletcher, 30-to-1

11. Invasor [ARG] (Candy Stripes), Fernando Jara, 126, Kiaran McLaughlin, 5-to-1

12. Suave (A.P. Indy), Kent Desormeaux, 126, Paul McGee, 30-to-1

13. Sun King (Charismatic), Rafael Bejarano, 126, Nick Zito, 15-to-1

Bernardini, Invasor, and Lava Man have won ten Grade 1 races between them this year, and they tower over the 13-horse Classic field. Invasor is the second choice at 5-to-1, and Lava Man is the third choice at 6-to-1. No other horse was listed at below 10-to-1 on Mike Battaglia’s morning line.

The two horses who are 10-to-1 are both based in Europe: George Washington (Ire) in post four and David Junior in post seven.
