Breeders’ Cup Results & Payouts: Informed Decision Wins The Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at Santa Anita Park

Informed Decision won the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint by a length over defending champion Ventura at Santa Anita Park Friday, November 6.

SBG Global RacebookJockey Julien Leparoux earned his second victory on Breeders’ Cup Day 1 aboard Informed Decision, who covered 7 furlongs in 1:21.66 and paid $8.80, $3 and $2.80.

Ventura returned $2.60 and $2.20 as the 4-5 wagering favorite for Hall of Fame race horse trainer Bobby Frankel, who has run his stable by phone most of the year as he battles an undisclosed illness.

Free Flying Soul was another three lengths back in third and paid $7.40 to show.

Trainer Jonathan Sheppard scored his first Breeders’ Cup victory on the day, to go with a second in the Breeders’ Cup Marathon and a third in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.

Sara Louise was fourth in the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint field of nine followed by Only Green (IRE), Silver Swallow, Evita Argentina, Seventh Street and Game Face.
