Tapitsfly outran Rose Catherine in the stretch to win the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf by half a length Friday, November 6, at Santa Anita Park.
The 2-year-old gray filly Tapitsfly ran a mile on turf in 1:34.25 under jockey Robby Albarado paying $21.60, $8.60 and $6 at 9-1 odds. Rose Catherine returned $6.80 and $5.80, while House of Grace was another 3 lengths back in third and paid $5 to show.

Hatheer finished fourth in the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf followed by Jungle Tale, La Nez, Potosina, 3-2 horse wagering favorite Lillie Langtry (IRE), Smart Seattle, Lisa’s Kitten, Elusive Galaxy (IRE) and Junia Tepzia (IRE).
It was the second running of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf in the Breeders’ Cup’s 26-year history.
