Eclipse Awards Finalists Announced; Zenyatta & Rachel Alexandra Vie For Horse of the Year

Females dominate horse racing as the Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Zenyatta and the Preakness winner Rachel Alexandra lead the Eclipse Awards finalists being the only two nominated for Horse of the Year.
Either Rachel Alexandra or Zenyatta will become the first female to win the year-end honor since Azeri in 2002. They are virtual locks to win divisional championships.

Winners in all categories will be announced at the 39th annual Eclipse Awards ceremony, to be held on January 18, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Voting is done by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the National Turf Writers Association and the Daily Racing Form.
