Funny Cide, winner of the 2003 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Preakness Stakes (gr. I), has been entered in a one-mile allowance race Thursday at Gulfstream Park.

Trained by Barclay Tagg, Funny Cide finished seventh in his most recent start, the grade III Mr. Prospector Handicap Jan. 7, but rebounded to work a sharp half-mile Sunday in :47. His last win came in the 2004 Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I) at Belmont Park. Jockey Edgar Prado will be aboard again.

Also entered is Sun King, making his first start since finishing ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I).

Sun King, trained by Nick Zito, won the grade III Tampa Bay Derby last March but finished 15th in the Kentucky Derby and fourth in the Preakness. He bounced back in the second half of the season to capture the grade III Leonard Richards Stakes and the grade II Pennsylvania Derby.
