Horse Racing Results: Dry Martini Wins Stuyvesant Handicap at Aqueduct

Dry Martini shook off the wet and foggy conditions at Aqueduct, home of the Cigar Mile Handicap, to beat Stud Muffin by 3 lengths in the $110,500 Stuyvesant Handicap on Saturday, November 15.

Online Horse BettingThe early trailer in the 6-horse Stuyvesant Handicap field, Dry Martini fanned 4 wide for the stretch run, finishing under a hand ride by jockey Channing Hill.

“The race set up perfect for us,” jockey Channing Hill said. “The horse really showed up today.”

The 2008 Stuyvesant Handicap finish time was 1:51.18 for the 1 1/8 miles in the mud.

Trained by Billy Turner, Dry Martini earned $66,300 for race horse owner Carol Nyren. The 5-year-old gelding got his seventh win in 20 starts, paying $10.20, $4.70 and $3.20. Stud Muffin returned $3.80 and $2.90. Temporary Saint paid $3.80 to show.

Ravel was fourth in Aqueduct’s Stuyvesant Handicap followed by Brilliant Son and Solar Flare.
