Kentucky Derby Prep Race Results: Crisp Wins The Santa Anita Oaks March 6

Michael Talla’s probable for the 2010 Kentucky Derby field, Crisp, under jockey Joel Rosario, won Saturday’s $250,000 Santa Anita Oaks (G1) by a neck over All Due Respect at Santa Anita Park.

SBG  Global RacebookTrained by John Sadler, Crisp raced 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.50 and paid $13.60, $8 and $2.80. All Due Respect, ridden by jockey Garrett Gomez returned $8.20 and $3.20.? 1-2 horse wagering favorite Blind Luck with jockey Rafael Bejarano aboard was another neck back in third after rallying from seventh showing $2.10.

Trainer John Sadler plans to bring Crisp to the Derby-eve Oaks.

“She’s got good stamina and can run a big distance,” race horse trainer John Sadler said of Crisp who he plans on bringing to the Kentcky Oaks, held a day before the Kentucky Derby 2010.

Warren’s Jitterbug finished fourth in the Santa Anita Oaks followed by Cozi Rosie, Zilva and Riviera Chic. Sister Dawn was scratched.

“We got beat the whole way,” said race horse trainer Jerry Hollendorfer of Blind Luck, who was seeking her third consecutive Grade 1 victory. Filly Blind Luck was the 4-1 horse betting favorite at the conclusion of Friday’s Kentucky Oaks future wagering.
