Posted on Saturday, June 13th, 2009
Race horse trainer Chip Woolley says that Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird will be pointed to the Breeders’ Cup 2009 at Santa Anita Park.
Chip Woolley says Mine That Bird’s next horse races will be the $750,000 West Virgina Derby (G2) at Mountaineer Park on August 1, then the $1-million Travers Stakes on August 29 at Saratoga Race Course.
From there, race horse trainer Chip Woolley says, the course is uncharted, but the goal for Mine That Bird is the Breeders’ Cup Classic on November 7 at Santa Anita.
Mine That Bird returned to Churchill Downs in Louisville on Thursday after finishing third to Summer Bird in the Belmont Stakes. Prior to that, Mine That Bird finished second to filly Rachel Alexandra in the Preakness.
