Tale of Ekati Prepares For The 2008 Kentucky Derby at Keeneland

Tale of Ekati, one of the 2008 Kentucky Derby contenders and who is owned by Charles Fipke, worked 5 furlongs in 1:00.20 at Keeneland on Wednesday morning, turning in the second-fastest of 11 other works at the distance.
The son of Tale of the Cat, Tale of Ekati, who currently ranks third on the graded stakes earnings list with $738,000, secured his spot among 2008 Kentucky Derby entries with a win in the Wood Memorial (G1) last April 5 at Aqueduct.
Horse trainer Barclay Tagg plans to ship Tale of Ekati and stablemate Big Truck to Churchill Downs on Saturday, April 26.
Tale of Ekati’s final breeze before the 2008 Kentucky Derby is slated for Tuesday. Tale of Ekati also won the Futurity Stakes (G2) at Belmont Park, home of the 2008 Belmont Stakes, last year.
