FLORENCE, KY. (AP) — With a City, the biggest longshot on the board, won the $500,000 Lane’s End Stakes at 48-1 odds Saturday at Turfway Park.

With a City burst between horses at the top of the stretch and beat Seaside Retreat to the wire in the first major Kentucky Derby prep to be run on Polytrack, an all-weather synthetic surface.Turfway Park is the only track in the nation with the rubber, sand and wax mixture, which is more widely used in England.

With a City, ridden by Brice Blanc, ran the 1 1-8 miles in 1:51.

"He’s kind of a lazy horse. He’s not aggressive at all," trainer Michael Maker said. But Maker, who has had the 3-year-old colt only since early February, found how to get the most out of him after an eighth-place finish in the John Battaglia Memorial Stakes at Turfway on March 4.
