Sam F. Davis Stakes Contenders Post Final Works

Online Horse BettingKentucky Derby hopefuls and probable contenders for Saturday’s $225,000 Sam F. Davis Stakes (G3) at Tampa Bay Downs are posting their final works leading up to the race.

The 1 1/16-mile Sam F. Davis Stakes is a prep race for the 2009 Kentucky Derby on May 2 at Churchill Downs.

On February 7, Musket Man, who captured last month’s Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, drilled 5 furlongs in 1:00 for race horse trainer Derek Ryan.

Atomic Rain also worked 4 furlongs in :49.08 over the Oldsmar oval, while A. P. Cardinal worked 4 furlongs at Palm Meadows in :49.85 and Free Country traveled 5 furlongs in 1:02.1 and was ranked 18th of the 30 race horses that worked the morning of the seventh at Gulfstream Park.
