Horse Racing Results: Haynesfield Wins The Suburban Handicap at Belmont Park
Posted on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010
Haynesfield, under jockey Ramon Dominguez, won the 124th running of the $300,000 Suburban Handicap (G2) Saturday afternoon at Belmont Park as favored I Want Revenge settled for third in his comeback bid.
After stalking Regal Ransom through early fractions of 24.10 and 46.87, Haynesfield ranged up to challenge the pacesetter on the far turn and took command at the three-eighths pole. Shrugging off a bid from I Want Revenge as the Suburban Handicap field of 7 straightened for home, the 4-year-old New York-bred son of Speightstown opened up in the stretch and hit the wire 2 3/4 lengths in front of the fast-closing Convocation.

Kentucky Derby Prep Race Results: I Want Revenge Wins Wood Memorial at Aqueduct April 4
Posted on Saturday, April 4th, 2009
I Want Revenge overcame a horrible start, traffic problems and 7 other hopeful Kentucky Derby contenders Saturday afternoon to win the 85th running of the $750,000 Wood Memorial (G1) at Aqueduct Rracetrack by 1 1/2 lengths over West Side Bernie.
“You don’t want to see that kind of trouble, and nine out of 10 times they don’t overcome it,” said winning race horse trainer Jeff Mullins, as I Want Revenge paid $3 for his second victory on dirt. “So, for him to do what did today is just unbelievable. He had every trouble you could have in a race and still overcame it. That’s as good as it gets right there.”
Race horse trainer Jeff Mullins said he would like to ship to Churchill Downs on Monday, and hopefully, start training I Want Revenge for the 2009 Kentucky Derby at 1 1/4 miles.

Greg Melikov’s Top 10 Kentucky Derby Contenders 2009
Posted on Tuesday, March 24th, 2009
Friesan Fire: Well-bred son of A. P. Indy earns top ranking because he answered the most important question: What have you done for me lately? Well, he’s the first 3-year-old to sweep the Fair Grounds version of Triple Crown races in 16 years. He won the Louisiana Derby, covering the 1 1/16 miles on a sloppy surface in an impressive 1:43 2/5.
Conditioner Larry Jones indicated his trainee might train up to the Kentucky Derby 135. His Hard Spun did just that after winning in 2007, but six weeks later he ran third at Churchill Downs. Ah, but the horse is being shipped to Keeneland where he could run on April 11 in the Blue Grass. Street Sense hit the board at Lexington before winning at Louisville.
I Want Revenge: He scorched the opposition in the Gotham on a sloppy Aqueduct, sharing the highest speed figure recorded by a top Kentucky Derby contender in preps.
